About Gardenesque and this Website . . .

Since 1973 I have been developing my garden and learning about plants that grow and prosper in clay soils in this area. I attended Harford Community College and George Washington University taking classes about garden plants and landscape design. In 1990 I started offering my services as a landscape designer in Harford County, Maryland and surrounding areas. I was a certified member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) for ten years. After twenty years of walking the hills and valleys of Harford County, I retired from my design and consultation business.

I began working on my Gardenesque website around the year 2000. I wanted to put my plant knowledge in a physical form so this website was made. Originally I had a newsletter as well; now, the published newsletter articles have been incorporated within this site.

With the improvement in websites to make them responsive to the size of the computer, tablet or cell phone used to view them, I changed the website to keep up with the times.
